The Ultimate Gamebook Experience
These books are an incredible gaming experience. And they are so accessible even to those of you that have never played a gamebook before. Most of the books are one player, but in Season 2 one of the books even supports playing with 2 players!
- There is zero setup time. Open the book and begin playing. Start and stop at will, play time is whatever you want it to be.
- They tell a cohesive and engaging story.
- They include puzzles, riddles, hidden numbers, and other challenges that will test you at every step.
- "I need a game to play on an airplane tray table" - Look no further!
- The books feature a variety of themes and story lines each with different rules and gameplay twists on the core system.
- If you were here for season 1 you already know my opinion... This is the BEST game book experience out there.
Still not convinced? Let's take a peek inside...
In Mystery! you are a new recruit trying to join the Legion of Champions, the most famous super hero group of all-time. You'll have to prove yourself. Experience the trials with Mystery, Miracle Woman, ShadowDark and others in this hilarious and fun filled adventure!
Looking at your character sheet, you'll get to name your super hero and then decide how to split your 3 starting hero points between Flight, Strength, Super Senses, and Super Rich. As you progress, you will be able to increase your stats in the skills of your choice! There is even a high tech metamorpher machine that will allow you to reconfigure your stats during the game, but you might want to be careful using that as there could be, well, er, side effects. Ultimately you'll need to earn enough hero points to become a full fledged member of the Legion of Champions!
Let's look at one of the scenarios that might come up in the book...
How would you handle this situation?
Did you notice the QR code on the page? One of the special features in Mystery is that you have a high tech watch you can use to get instant information and tips. If you have a QR code reader on your phone, go ahead and scan it now. If not, or you prefer not to have a device on hand, don't worry, the QR codes are completely optional!
So which choice would YOU make? Want to know what happens? Well pledge for these books and you'll be able to find out this and soooo much more!
All of the books have choices of where to go and what to do. You'll encounter foes, puzzles, traps, riddles, and much, much more! Not every path is safe though, so choose wisely!
You don't want to miss spotting a hidden number that could be critical to your objective... Can YOU spot the hidden number in the frame below? (Don't worry, the below frame is modified. This is not an actual hidden number in the book - as to not spoil anything)
If this was real and not just a made up example, you would flip to panel 101 and perhaps discover one of Mystery's most intimate secrets.
I can tell you want MORE! Well to experience all these books have to offer you are going to have to pledge for the set. But let's look at an overview of the other four, shall we?
Ready to continue where Sherlock Holmes: Four Investigations left off? Well look no further than Sherlock Holmes & Moriarty: Associates! In this book, not only can you play as Holmes and Watson, but now you can also choose Moriarty! He's joined the team under peculiar circumstances...
Question suspects without fear of offending them knowing your ability to coerce and threaten them will produce useful information!
Will you solve the cases with the help of your arch nemesis? And has he really changed his ways? Or is he up to something sinister?
In Sherlock Holmes: The Challenge of Irene Adler, there is a new detective in town! Irene is now competing with the Baker Street boys for business. But will she truly be able to rival the skills of Sherlock?
Play solo, or head to head against another player each taking on the role of either Sherlock Holmes or Irene Adler. Only by using your wits will you prove yourself to be London's Greatest Detective! Will you best your opponent in this battle of wits? Or will your opponent come out on top?
In Pirates: The Great Chase, you can choose one of three Pirates with a different set of stats. Your goal? To find the prisoner that just escaped your ship and is swimming toward a nearby island.
This is a true treasure hunt and you will really need to keep your eyes peeled for hidden objects along the way! You never know what you'll come across that could be helpful later on!
In Pirates: The City of Skulls, you'll continue where your adventure left off and explore the bustling pirate town. Will you be able to unlock its secrets and find what you are looking for?
Featuring a new stat to track, your piracy level, this Pirates book is sure to satisfy.
