We at The Game Steward are thrilled to bring you our annual Black Friday Sale (and Winter Holiday Sale too!)! That’s right, we’ve made some changes this year, so please read carefully.
Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of our Sale, including some tips to help you score the best deals on hundreds of board games:
1. Sale Dates & Timing
The BLACK FRIDAY SALE kicks off at 12:01 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Friday, November 28, and runs through 11:59 pm Monday, December 1. Note that domestic orders placed during this sale will qualify for holiday shipping to arrive in time for Christmas.*
(FIRST NOTE: As always, orders containing a "pre-order item" will NOT ship right away.)
(SECOND NOTE: we reserve the right to exclude certain orders over $500 due to the complexity of packing and shipping such large orders safely.)
(THIRD NOTE: due to the uncertainties of international shipping and customs enforcement, we cannot verify that an international order will arrive before Christmas.)
We will immediately move to our WINTER HOLIDAY SALE at 12:00 am Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Tuesday, December 2. During the Winter Holiday Sale, sale discounts will remain the same. However, orders placed on or after December 2 will NOT be eligible for holiday shipping. Due to the anticipated heavy volume of orders, customers should expect significant delays (30+ days) to receive orders placed during the Winter Holiday Sale.
2. Early Bird Tip
Want the inside track? Be ready at 12:01 AM EST on Black Friday and hit Refresh on your browser to see the sale go live and see sale prices as soon as they come online. Make sure to add items to your cart after sale prices are posted, because items added before this time won’t reflect the discounts.
3. Our Best Discounts on Limited Edition In-Stock Games
With hundreds of limited edition, in-stock games on sale, you’ll find discounts of up to 80% on select titles! Note: Over 600 (at last count) different In-Stock titles will be on sale while supplies last. (A limited number of pre-order items will be discounted as well!)
4. Hidden Discounts
Some publishers enforce Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) restrictions on certain games. For these, you won’t see a sale price listed, but here’s a trick: add them to your cart to unlock potential hidden discounts. Don’t miss out!
5. Limited Quantities – No Rain Checks
Inventory is limited, and exclusive games won’t be restocked once sold out. We recommend acting quickly to secure your favorites. Some customers even purchase games at full price before the sale to guarantee they don’t miss out, just something to consider. Accordingly, we will not price match on sale prices for any orders placed before the Sale.
In the rare event of inventory discrepancies, we reserve the right to cancel orders and issue a full refund.
6. "Ding & Dent" Specials
Looking for amazing deals on slightly imperfect games? Our "ding & dent" items will be on sale during Black Friday. These are sold as-is, with no refunds. The damage is typically cosmetic, think dings, dents, or minor scratches, but any significant issues will be clearly described in the listing.
7. Shipping Delays
As mentioned above, domestic orders (including AK, HI, and PR) placed during the Black Friday Sale will qualify for holiday shipping (reserving the right to exclude large orders over $500). We take great care in packing every order, but due to the anticipated volume of purchases, domestic fulfillment may still be delayed, and may take up to 3 weeks to ship.
We cannot ensure that International orders will arrive before Christmas. We are unable to offer expedited shipping options overseas, so if you live outside the US, please plan accordingly for a substantial delay in delivery.
As always, international customers are responsible for all customs, fees, and taxes incurred by their order.
All orders placed on or after December 2, may see significant delays (30+ days) to ship. If you live in the US, and need your games for the holidays, we recommend placing your order no later than December 1!
8. Other Shipping Issues
A reminder about our shipping policies re: delivery. The Holiday season is also "porch pirate" season. We highly encourage all customers make sure that packages can be delivered to their preferred address in a safe and secure manner. Because most of the titles we offer are limited editions, we cannot replace stolen packages once the courier confirms that a package has been delivered safely. If you have any concerns about possible theft, please reach out to us, and we can arrange for a signature requirement for your order.
9. Order Limits
As there are not enough of all the games, we’re implementing a general limit of 2 copies per order. For bulk orders, contact us in advance, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
